Details

The Director of Afterhours will directly manage the 3 current ADONs and any other ADONs or continuous care RNs that are hired in the future. The position is Monday-Friday working during the day. The position is hybrid: 1 day onsite in each office (Daly City, Fremont, & Walnut Creek) and 2 days remote.

Some key responsibilities include the following:

  • Afterhours hiring/onboarding/training
  • Supports HR related matters
  • Manages efficiencies of afterhours team
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvement
  • Responsible for afterhours compliance
  • Oversight of labor efficiencies
  • Oversees ongoing training for the team
  • Works closely with office administrators and marketing team
  • Provide availability for urgent calls at night and weekends
  • Cover ADONs during night shift or weekends when employee is on PTO

Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (in good standing) in the state(s) of practice 
  • 1 year of hospice leadership experience as a Director of Nursing or Administrator
  • Or 3 years of hospice leadership experience in another different director role
  • Or 5 years of leadership experience outside of hospice
  • Exhibit objectivity and openness to others' views, contribute to holding each other accountable and building a positive team spirit
  • Balance team and individual responsibilities
  • A strong leader with impeccable organizational, strategic, analytical and project management skills.
  • A solid communicator with exceptional interpersonal skills and a proven ability to motivate, mentor, and influence others.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently with little direction.
  • Must be willing to drive with reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance
  • Excellent customer service skills with a desire to build and nurture relationships
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and ability to learn new applications.
  • A professional, courteous, and helpful demeanor.
